Is there a possiblity he likes me?

There is this guy ive had both in my econ class and government class this year. I havent really talked to him until a month or month and a half ago. We love to talk though! about a week and a half ago i walked him to his class since i had no 6th period. we hugged goodbye but it was a two arm-dont leave hug and when we looked up we locked eyes. At the end o the day we ran into each other accidentally and he told me to go to the library with him so i did. His friends were up there but he took me to a table where we could just talk. he pulled out a chair for me and just started asking me questions about me and he even i guess wanted to impress me by teaching me things he learned wich i thought was really cool. we could hear his friends teasing him and he got red. Then he suggested we leave. I thought it was cute how he just wanted to talk to me. He walked me out front and said goodbye. our goodbye hug was like it liked a connection or something because it left me with butterflies. he always says hi to me and when he does ill just wave but he goes for the hug. So my question is, is there a possibility he likes me? Oh also is it ok to ask a guy out?
