Im playing pokemon gold and it says that only if i trade my haunter will it evolve into genghar. But who do i trade with? and if i trade it to someone in the game, will that guy give it back to me? I want genghar real bad...

do you have to wait a day (in the game) or can you never get the pokemon back and stick with the one you traded it for. I traded my haunter so that it would evolve for a xatu but i'm wondering if i can trade the xatu for it so i can get it back.
