Pokemon Leaf Green : I have 2 questions to ask :)?

Since you chose Charmander,The upcoming gym Battle with brock might pose difficulties,(unless you want to spend a great deal of time trying to gain levels until Charmander learns metal claw),therefore you might want to capture a Mankey once you get out of Viridian forest,since it is a fighting type and will be super effective against his rock types.It can be found in a patch of grass that is a little to the left of the point where you exit Viridian forest.Any other pokemon you can capture at that point is alright to fill up your pokedex ,or just to keep as backups in case one of the main pokemon in your team dies.But the pokemon available at that point aren't very powerful against the gym leader :/.If you want a proper team for the entire game i would gladly tell you so if you wish.
