What are the rules for wifi pokemon battles on the nintendo DS?

ok so now with the black and white version of pokemon can we still battle with people who have heart gold or platinum version? I know that from white and black version we cant trade the pokemon to older games, but can we trade pokemon from older games to black and white for the old pokemon that are seen there? Ex. from heart gold trade haunter, for dratini in White version?
